The Realities of Airflow through Perforated Doors
This white paper will explore the realities of perforated door performance in regards to the percentage of perforation open area and the airflow afforded by it. Drawing on information from the Industrial Perforators Association, thermal calculations, and internal Rittal testing, it will be shown that greater levels of perforation open area percentage in server enclosure doors do not inherently create greater airflow, and that perforation open area percentage of 63% is more than adequate for airflow and advantageous for the strength, integrity, and security of the enclosure.
